pkg arrived and was well packed. Hat was perfect in every way except it was a little tight fitting. I hope with time, it will loosen up some. I guess I can wet it and wear it till it drys. I like it. It's light and cool when I'm out in the garden and working with my trees. It definitely will stay on in the wind.

This straw hat arrived safely in a strong box. Well-made, fits comfortably. My only concern is that it easily catches the wind and blows off. Will be trying to rig some sort of chin string I'd certainly recommend this hat!

This hat is well made, light and with a really wide brim. Just what I wanted. I ordered one size too small for me and had to reorder one size larger. The customer service for the exchange was great.

This is a wonderful hat for sun. Large brim, comfortable fit, leather inset for the forehead and a nice light feel. The black ribbon gives it a nice "dress up" ! Great value . Really fast shipping.

Size 7 1/2 worked out well for me (as another reviewer wrote, perhaps a little tight at first, but quickly breaks in). I take a 7 1/2 in 59Fifty and 7 3/4 in Ebbets Field. Cheers from Colorado ^_^

I think the sizing is a little small

Finding a hat for my summer gardening has always been an issue for me. It's hard to find one with a wide enough brim to keep the sun off my neck and ears, and that is light enough to wear all day. I seldom find a product that I will endorse, but this one gets my whole-hearted support, and I actually shared this support on social media. Just a side-note: I am quite sure I will be ordering some other things that your site offers. Thank you!

This is a very well made hat. Much better than the ones typically found in stores. Sizing seems just a little on the small side. I ordered my usual size which typically fits well but with this hat it fits a bit tight. I’m hoping it will stretch with wear but if not I have a Hat Jack to give it a little stretch. The hat arrived with dents on the crown almost like a teardrop form. Hoping some stream will correct that. Both minor issues really. Overall a good hat and just what I was looking for.

A little disappointed with the head sweat band! 2" long! Really!!!!

I thought this would be a woven hat like the cheap ones they sell at Walmart. It was not. The natural materials (straw?) are braided in a narrow strip, then the strips are sewn together. It looks like a lot of work went into this, if indeed it was all handmade. I just got it, but it looks like it will hold up for quite some time. If I were to nit-pick, I'd say that the leather sweat band could be a little bigger.

Was looking for the right wide brimmed hat for my outdoor high adventures with the Scouts and this Amish Hat was perfect. Absolutely lovely

I live in the south. I often work in the sun. Its hot. My head is larger than most. I do not like to waste money. I've been looking for a quality hat for a long while now. I've bought most all of them from various brands, none lasted an entire season. I even contemplated buying a Stetson "straw" hat but couldn't stand the look, the plastic feel, or the price. This Amish straw hat was the tool that addressed every one of those issues and honestly gives me a smile when I wear it. I am glad things of quality are still made in my country. Thank you.

I have a deep and abiding respect and admiration for the Amish Community. I have a collection/assembly of a wide variety of hats, and this one shall take an honored place amongst them for it represents and expresses so much which is otherwise missing in today's society.

Prompt delivery, good fit. I did have to reshape hat a little from being crunched-up in the box, but it reshaped fine with a light misting of water.

As the description states, this hat is high quality and well made. I did have to confirm that the partial sweatband face the front of the hat, but the response was fast, as was the delivery. I would definitely recommend this product!

Good price, and shipping was super fast. The box arrived crushed, but I was able to pop the hat right back into shape. Good looking and very well made. Only complaint was that it was a little bit snug when I first put it on. I've never had trouble fitting into a 7 3/4. But I steamed the hat and snipped out the leather flap on the inside, and now it fits just fine. I'd order another one. Thanks!

Hat Lovers & others: This writer KNOWS his hats( 3 decades worth of study) and this is a good real Milan[wheat straw) hat. Beware, some 'straw' hats are plastic straw! This one is real. How do you tell, SNIFF the hat, it should smell natural, not like your plastic office coffee cup. Since it is straw, it will change shape in the rain, another test of materials, unless it is treated{ a story for another time}. SO when you buy one, buy a "Hat Jack" to go with it. Thus when it gets wet, use the hat jack to keep the hats shape. This is the time when you can stretch it a bit. I got mine as a 07 1/2, it fit, but very snug. I wore it in a rainy afternoon, put the Hat Jack to it, let it dry, and it a very good fit now. Bear in mind when you buy any hat, your head is not 'round' it is some species of oval. Long gone are the days of custom fitted hats, so with this one, its a DIY project to get it 'just right'. These are well woven and sewn, and well constructed. Historically they are a very good modern construction of a mans' hat of the mid-19th Century-as they should be. I have seen "Amish Straw Hats" that are, in fact, circa 1920 's boater hats! So, if you want aa good hat, buy this one, use it 'as is' or customize the basic hat to your style. Last, for those 'in the know' who might ask~ this hat is in the same style class as a felt Homburg hat, to be worn with business casual outfits, lounge suits, or, in my case, informal kilt wearing. Buy one, take care of it and enjoy it.
